October
wow. how is it that i always manage to forget about this completely? my apologies to the fam. so let's see, where did i leave off? Wendy flew out for Nationals, which was held in Gettysburg this year, instead of the old place in Havre De Grace. We had a fabulous time (as always) and i brought back a handful of terriers with me, again, no surprise there.

Rain is falling, leaves are falling and MORE leaves...
I can't believe it's October. Funny, if it isnt raining the leaves are falling, like rain. Sometimes when I'm not paying attention, I look out and expect to see snow.
Dylan is playing soccer for Upper Moreland again. His first two games were excellent, scoring of course. And he played in his usual dramatic style, flying thru the air and falling...
He will miss the next game as this will be his first weekend drilling with the Sea Cadets at here in Willow Grove, the Liberty Bell Squadron.

Another Visit To The Big Apple
The first weekend of September we took an impromptu trip up to NYC. The drive is just under 2 hours and it was such a beautiful day.
I had been looking forward to hitting the subway and seeing Professor Eduardo and his dancing dolls again....but this time we missed him. Did get to see the Naked Cowboy in Times Square again. Always entertaining.
We stopped in the park to have a drink and of course, I had to feed the pigeons my leftover pretzels. You think you are feeding five and all of a sudden, there are fifty swarming you. One of them got a little annoyed with all the crowding and just flew up and landed on my hand, bellied right up to the bar. Pretty funny. He grew calm enough that I was able to slowly hand him over to Dylan who got a kick out of holding the bird. Having animals trust you easily is a blessing, Ive experienced so many amazing things in my life. But it is also a curse as I simply cannot turn away from them.
As usual, we walked for miles, enjoying the always amazing street food and taking in the sights. Cant wait to go back.

Leaves have started falling...
Wow. It took two of my good friends to start blogging to remind me that I actually had one myself. (will add links to both of those below)
Ethan will be turning 17 this weekend. Scary, I know. He is driving himself to school and to golf everyday. I refuse to accept the fact that this time next year he could, in fact, leave home.
Dylan is plying soccer, wrestling and in Sea Cadets.
Jaime transferred from Maintenance to Operations. Maybe things will calm down a bit?
Initiation is over Thank the good Lord.

Well, it's about time.....
Summer has finally arrived. I am a total nerd, giddy each morning when I walk outside to 70 degrees and sunshine.
Dylan is leaving tonight for a 5 day trip to Montreal/Quebec City. I am excited for him...but scared. Both boys will be out of school the last week of June. Seems so strange as in Texas they were let out of school in late May.
My fox showed up last night around 9pm. First time I've seen him in 26 days. I had started to really worry. I had figured he was still coming by each night to eat, as the food was gone, but then it could also have been eaten by another critter. But then he started marking the spot. Being so dark I didnt get a good look at him and couldnt tell much about his condition. Seems to have lost a lot of his winter coat and looks much more sleek. Except for those really big ears...
Tomorrow first thing Nugget and I are headed to the vet, he needs to get a blood draw for a CBC. Back to work. Saturday I am headed to the Bryn Mawr Hound Show and then back over to the Devon Horse Show. Sunday a trip to the vet, all dogs getting vaccinations updated. Monday, another trip for Nugget to VetCares to see Dr. Baez, his Oncologist.
Two weeks ago we took a trip down to Washington DC for the weekend. Six Flags America and enjoying the city. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on 14th. Wow, what a great location. But for $225 a night I expected much better service. The boys each brought a friend and we had a really great time.

Jaime leaves on another trip the 10th - 13th. I don't even know where he's going yet. Chief's Initiation starts this month. Basically that means we wont see much of him all summer.
